How we work

Manufacturing Process

Each stage states its purpose and the quality consideration that goes with it — without promising unverified tolerances or defect rates.

  1. Requirement review

Purpose: understand the component, its application and the customer's drawings, quantities and timeline. Quality consideration: feasibility and completeness of requirements before anything is committed.

  2. Material selection and preparation

Purpose: select and prepare high-quality polymer materials for the component. Quality consideration: consistent strength and durability in every component.

  3. Mould setup

Purpose: install and maintain precision-engineered moulds for the component. Quality consideration: accurate dimensions and flawless surface finishes.

  4. Injection moulding

Purpose: inject molten plastic into the mould under controlled pressure and temperature. Quality consideration: optimal part quality through controlled parameters and monitoring.

  5. Cooling and ejection

Purpose: cool the components and eject them safely, retaining precise shape and finish. Quality consideration: shape retention and finish before further processing.

  6. Secondary finishing and coating, where applicable

Purpose: finishing operations for components whose route includes them — for example aluminizing of reflectors, vibration and ultrasonic welding, assembly, or hard coating of lenses. Quality consideration: finish and joint checks appropriate to the operation. This stage applies only where it is part of the product route.

  7. Quality inspection

Purpose: check components against the agreed requirements. Quality consideration: dimensional accuracy, appearance and durability — see the quality approach.

  8. Packaging and dispatch

Purpose: prepare inspected components for delivery to the customer. Quality consideration: identification and protection appropriate to the component and journey.

Design, tooling manufacture, coating and packaging are shown only as route stages — inclusion here does not state that KVMG performs each of them in-house. Confirm scope per enquiry.
